Garmin-Asus Nuviphone with GPS

Garmin, in collaboration with Asus has come up with a phone that combines the power of Garmin’s GPS technology with phone. Garmin-Aus Nuviphone is available from AT&T for $199. The phone provides a complete range of GPS functionality from this article in cellcompare, alongwith other smartphone features such as camera. The phone comes preloaded with maps so the user need not download the entire map while on the road.

Would I replace my GPS with a GPS phone? Probably not.

iPhone coming to Verizon??

Digital Media Wire is reporting that Verizon is in talks with Apple to bring in iPhone. Apparently they have been in talk for some time now and Apple is working on creating the CDMA phone. Check out the release here. If this is true, then we’ll have first non-GSM version of iPhone.

iPhone users ten times as likely to play games vs other mobiles

A market research report released by ComScore says that iPhone users are 10 times more likely to play games than other phone users. Overall, 32.4% of iPhone users have downloaded a game, compared with a market average of 3.8%.

Mobile games market is worth $4.5 billion

According to a report published in Information Week , downloads of mobile games have grown by over 17% in last year, lead by Apple iPhone. The market research firm says that the overall market for mobile games is worth $4.5 billion dollars in 2009.

Other platforms noted by the report are Symbian, Windows Mobile and Blackberry.
