Garmin-Asus Nuviphone with GPS

Garmin, in collaboration with Asus has come up with a phone that combines the power of Garmin’s GPS technology with phone. Garmin-Aus Nuviphone is available from AT&T for $199. The phone provides a complete range of GPS functionality from this article in cellcompare, alongwith other smartphone features such as camera. The phone comes preloaded with maps so the user need not download the entire map while on the road.

Would I replace my GPS with a GPS phone? Probably not.

Getjar introduces mobile ad program

Getjar is announcing a program to monetize on application development. The program is going live immediately. From the release:

GetJar Ads is a new pay-per-performance advertising service that allows developers to display contextual advertising as mobile applications are being used, earning revenue as consumers click on ads. Additionally, GetJar is running a promotion for developers that will help them secure up to 1,000 new downloads. These new programs will go live for developers starting today.
