I recently came accross a portal for Flash Lite games for motorola phones. This particular post not only lists several games available, but also has a short review of each. The portal is about mobile applications available for Motorola devices in general.
Nokia has announced a contenst for ‘mind blowing games’. They are inviting developers to create innovative games for Ngage and Series 40 and 60 devices. Although the announcement does not say what the technology should be used, there is mention of Java and SYmbin. From the site:
Sponsored by Nokia Publishing, the Mobile Games Innovation Challenge invites developers to submit mobile gaming concepts to help drive mobile gaming worldwide to the next level of excitement and innovation, relying on the advanced features and functionalities of any Nokia N-Gage, Java or Symbian-based Series 40 or S60 device.
The three most innovative game concepts will be offered Nokia Publishing pre-production contracts, targeting publication of their winning concept on the corresponding Nokia device platform. In addition, the first winner will be awarded 40,000 Euros, the second 20,000 Euros and the third 10,000 Euros to enable the participant to further develop the concept.”

I came accross Scott Janouek’s presentation on how to create widgets for Chumby online. You can download it here. The site for some reason does not allow you to download it, but nevertheless, its a good source for someone looking to develop Flash Lite games for Chumby.
iPhone 3G is being released today. Information week has written an article about the top 3G apps available for iPhone. I was surprised to find that iPhone did not come with Notepad type application.

Playoo, a mobile game community, has announced a program for up and coming Flash Lite developers. They are promising to pay cash for good ideas received from the developers.
From their post:
“One of the main objectives of the PDP is to create a marketplace for Flash Lite game developers to sell games to buyers. For now, the only buyer is Playyoo itself, but this will change as we start to
introduce 3rd party commercial customers. In order to get things going, we’re running a pilot programme where we are requesting proposals for a game on a specific theme every week. We’re paying €300 for each delivered game. So far we’re in week 3, and it’s going pretty well.
One of the nice things is seeing just how quickly developers can respond - using Flash Lite, an entertaining casual mobile game can go from nothing to online in under a week.
We’d really like to build up this initiative. Obviously, it helps us, to get great content, but hopefully it also helps the Flash Lite community, especially people who would like to break in to commercial or semi-commercial development.

I came accross this wallpaper from Lycette brothers. It displays date, time and day on your mobile screen. This wallpaper is based on FLash Lite 1.1 so it should work with most of the phones.

A demo is made available by Matt Pollitt on his blog that shows Flash delivering on demand video. He is working with a company called Stream Mobile who provides video on demand. Stream’s web site is: streamOnline.co.uk
Jeffferey Goldman has created very interesting wallpapers using Flash Lite. These are not static wallpapers. These wallpapers embed quiz and information in them and rotate. So it not only gives you a ‘cool’ background, it also helps enhance your IQ!!!
