Flash Lite blog reader

Flash Blogs, Flash Lite 3, Flash Lite applications October 24th, 2008

Alesandro has put together a blog reader that will let you read his blog posts on a mobile device. It seems like a neat application, but obvious limitation is you can only read from one web site. Nevertheless, I am sure it can be expanded to read from other sites also. Check it out here.

Flash Lite games to be developed by mobile games company

Flash Games, Flash Lite 3 October 16th, 2008

Skillpod media, a mobile games company based in South Africa is planning on launching a game suite based on Flash Lite. From the release:

“Until now, SkillPod has focused on online casual games, with its GameZBoost platform used by several web portals in South Africa to deliver its games offerings.

Although Flash Lite suits casual games as a technology, the challenge for SkillPod will be educating consumers that they have Flash Lite capable handsets, and how to get the games.”

Automatically create Flash games?

Flash Games, Flash Lite 3, Flash Lite Games October 7th, 2008

There’s a new tool available from Instinct Company based in NewZealand. It allows you to create Flash based games using their graphical interface. They have also posted a video that shows how easily this can be done. They’ve also given bunch of examples of games created using the tool  on their web site. They have a channel on youtube where they show all these videos.

Does this mean that everyone with an idea can now create a game? Looks like we are ready for Games 2.0!

Flash Lite chat application using Bluetooth

Flash Lite 3, Flash Lite applications, Flash Tutorials August 18th, 2008

Kuneri Lite is a product that facilitates Flash to access device features such as bluetooth. It is a great utility for SYmbian based phones and you can develop pretty powerful applications. The developers at Kuneri recently posted a tutorial on Nokia forums on creating chat application using Blutetooth.

From the tutorial: “In this tutorial we will follow a step-by-step guide to create a chat by Bluetooth using Kuneri Lite. Kuneri Lite allows access to the S60 features (Bluetooth, GPS, Camera, …) that we haven’t access directly from Flash Lite.”

You can find the tutorial here.
